While preparing the kozo bark for sekishu paper, the middle bark layer is not removed; this makes for a stornger paper and darker color than other kizuki papers. Sekishu paper is good for hinging, mending and backing.  We carry two Sekishu Hanshi papers: TSURU and MARE. Tsuru is made from machine beaten kozo and dried on a dryer, while MARE is made from hand beaten kozo and dried on wood boards.
